Pres. Jonathan appoints Peter Ekpendu as Comptroller General of Nigeria Prison

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has yesterday sacked the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Prison Service, Alhaji Aminu Suleh and replaced him with Dr. Peter Ezenwa Ekpendu. 
The much predicted sack of Mr Saleh came barely five days after the Ekiti state jail break in which over 400 inmates escaped and about 200 inmates were later re-captured.
The appointment, which was announced on Friday in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Mr. Ope Fatinikun.
The new CGP's tertiary education was at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he obtained his Bsc (Hons) in 1981, MED in 1984 and Ph.D in 1988
Dr. Ekpendu who hails from Imo state was until his recent appointment a deputy Comptroller General (Administration). Big congrats to him!
