In the ongoing Africa Women's Championship, Nigeria's Super Falcons today made it 3rd win in three matches at the ongoing African Women's Championship, beating the host nation, Namibia 2-0 to top their group. The team has qualified for the semis after winning its first two matches. It defeated Cote d’ Ivoire 4-2 in its opening game before thrashing Zambia 6-0 on Tuesday.
Gloria Ofoegbu and Francisca Ordega scored the 2 goals for Super Falcons in the 1st half of the game, in front of Namibia's home fans at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
By Namibia's defeat to Nigeria, Namibia has now exited the tournament, with Ivory Coast sealing the last qualification spot in the group.
Coach Edwin Okon and his team will be aiming to reclaim the title but first their priority would be to finish amongst the first three in order to qualify for the Women's World Cup tournament taking place in Canada next year.
