Oh no! Not again! After the tragic collapse of SCOAN , another one storey building belonging to Christ Chosen
Church of God located at Usama street, Uzebu quarters collapsed yesterday, three people
are feared dead.
The building, which was said to have housed the offices and church officials, was in the process of being demolished.
Sources indicated that 12 workers hired at N 2500 per day were working in the building, but three of them went out to eat at the time the building came down. The exact number of people trapped under the rubble is not clear.
Commissioner of Police, Folusho Adebanji had immediately mobilised men and materials to the scene on hearing the building’s collapse.
Angry residents were reportedly to have set a bus belonging to the Church ablaze and destroyed its main auditorium.
The angry mob blamed the Church for using manual labour to demolish the building, lamenting that Church officials should have used an excavator. RIP to the dead.
