Gen, Muhammadu Buhari knocks out incumbent President Jonathan in Nigeria Election

Change is indeed irresistible! Perseverance pays! After three previous unsuccessful shots at the presidency, 73 year old,  General Muhammadu Buhari is finally moving into Aso Rock, Nigeria’s presidential palace,as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The retired General  and APC Presidential candidate got the highest number of votes in 21 states with 15,416,221 votes while incumbent Pres. Jonathan of PDP triumph  in 15 states and Abuja with 12,853,162 votes.

The APC candidate won in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara.

While, Pres. Jonathan on the other hand triumph  in Rivers, Plateau, Taraba, Nasarawa, Imo, Enugu, Ekiti, Edo, Delta, Ebonyi, Cross River, Bayelsa, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Abia and the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).

See Breakdown of PVCs distribution as stated by INEC

Here is the breakdown of PVCs distribution, as released by INEC yesterday Thursday, 19th February 2015.
INEC boss, Prof. Attahiru Jega also stated that the Independent Electoral Commission has exceeded its target of distributing 69.68% of PVCs to eligible electorates. And that the Commission is ready to hold come March 28 and April 11 respectively.

(1) Nasarawa State has the highest distribution
rate with 96.29 per cent; which indicates that
1,196,583 PVCs have been distributed out of
1,242,667 eligible voters in the state.

(2) Ogun State, which has a percentage
distribution of 40 per cent, indicating that out
of 1,829,534 eligible voters, only 747,556 PVCs
have been collected so far.

(3) In Yobe out of 1,099,970 eligible voters,
824,401 PVCs have been distributed;

Hmmm! Jega allegedly set to bow out as INEC Chairman?

According to undisclosed source, there are information making rounds, that the successor to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega has been nominated.

If things go as planned the new INEC chairman will be Prof Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, a professor of Political Science and International Relation and a former VC of Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.

The embattled Prof Jega who has long compromised his position as INEC boss, will be officially proceed on his three months terminal leave with effect from March 1, 2015 in compliance with the civil service procedure.
Hmmm! PDP i hail thee! We are definitely watching.

Oby and Alex tied the knot in 2011 and welcomed their first child together, a baby boy on September 22,2013.

Ivory Coast win AFCON 2015

The Elephants of Ivory Coast defeated Ghana in a 9-8 penalty shootout to clinch the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a goal less draw. 
Ivory Coast's goalkeeper, Boubacar Barry scored the winning penalty kick during the Africa Cup of Nations against Ghana in Bata.
Ivory Coast are now crowned 'Champions of Africa'. Big congrats to them!

INEC postpones 2015 General Elections to 28th March & 11th April

INEC boss Prof. Attahiru Jega has briefed the media on the outcome of the meeting he had with Nigeria Stakeholders as regards to the forth-coming elections. 
Jega stated that;

The 2015 general elections has been postponed by 6 weeks. The decision was made after briefings with various stakeholders notably political parties, security agencies, civil society and the media. 26 out of the 28 registered parties were at the meeting. And blamed the postponement on lack of security and collection of PVC. He said only 66% of the 96% PVCs has been collected

The presidential election is scheduled to hold on 28th of March while the Governorship election will now take place on 11th of April 2015.

Bruce Jenner Survives Multi-car crash that leaves1 person dead

Keeping up with the Kardashians Reality TV Star and Former America Olympian, Bruce Jenner was involved in a four-vehicle pileup that killed one person and injured an infant on Saturday afternoon in the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, several miles away from his home.

The 65-year-old ex-husband of Kris Jenner was seen inside an ambulance at the scene of the crash and given medical attention as a precaution.

According to E! News,

 Bruce wasn't hurt, One person, an adult woman, died in the accident, which took place just after 12 p.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and involved four vehicles. Seven other people, including an infant, suffered minor to moderate injuries and five of them were hospitalized. One of the crash survivors, a woman, lay on a stretcher and was handed her baby, according to a source.

The royal couple who met in 2001, got engaged in 2010, wedded in 2011, had a son named Prince George in 2013 are expecting a baby girl in April 2015.

An insider from the Palace confirmed the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a little princess who the royal couple plan to name Diana, after William’s mother.

Duchess Kate chose the name in memory of the late Princess Diana’s charity work.
